SKATE, FITNESS & POWERBOARDS
All programs run during the months of September, October & or November and are available in 4 week progressive sessions. There are options for youth ages 8-18 and select programs for adult women 18+ in inline skating.

Skate to Ski - Youth
Skate to Ski: Ages: 8-18
AM sessions are 9 am - 11 am
PM sessions are 3 pm - 5 pm
All sessions are four weeks long, recurring on the same day, time & at the same location. Choose your session based on date & preferred time.
SESSION 1: Saturdays -9/9 - 9/30 - -Western Nevada College- PM

SESSION 4: Sundays - 10/8-10/29 - Western Nevada College - PM
A four-week inline skating program preparing individuals with exercises and progressions specifically geared to improve their alpine skiing while also improving their skills on skates! The skills required for skating are extremely similar and applicable to alpine skiing. Proficiency in one lends to the other. This program is a transfer learning program geared toward improving ones skating ability to become a better skier. Drills and skills will be coached to improve skate techniques that have direct application to snow. This Skate to Ski program is supported by Rollerblade and endorsed & taught by their Skate to Ski program and ambassadors.
EQUIPMENT:
Skates, helmets, wrist, knee & elbow pads are required. If you do not have your own skates, skates can be provided; please email programs@skiingisbelieving.org with your child's foot size. Pads and all protective gear can also be provided with notice.

*Perfect attendance is not mandatory. Attendees can miss weeks as needed. However, no refunds or make-ups for missed weeks.

Women On Wheels - Inline Skating
Women on Wheels: Inline Skating (Skate to Ski) Adults 18+.

A four- week inline skating program for women with the goal of having fun, exercising and learning effective skating, and by default, ski technique in a supportive and collaborative environment. Women will learn exercises and progressions specifically geared to improve their alpine skiing while also challenging themselves and having fun on skates! The skills required for skating are extremely similar and applicable to alpine skiing. This program, led by certified Skate IA instructors and PSIA certified ski instructors is geared toward improving ones skating ability to become a better skier. Drills and skills will be coached to improve skate techniques that have direct application to snow. Powerboards to Snowboards
Powerboards to Snowboards: Ages 8-18

A four week transfer learning program for aspiring and experienced snowboarders. This program will focus on taking the fundamentals of snowboarding and practicing them on dry boards such as one wheels, long boards & balance boards. Skills and progressions will be taught & introduced geared toward balance, coordination and agility for all board sports. Attendees will learn skills on learn skills on flat pavement, gravel and grass surfaces, then progress to terrain and trails.
EQUIPMENT:
Helmets, knee, wrist & elbow pads are required. If you do not have your own protective gear it can be provided; please email programs@skiingisbelieving.org with your sizes. Balance, power & one wheel boards are provided; however, if you have your own you should bring it.

MOUNTAIN FITNESS
Mountain Fitness: AGES: 8-18
Early sessions: 12 pm - 2 pm

A fitness program preparing children with exercises specifically geared to mountain sports, specifically the flagship sports of Skiing is Believing / Biking is Believing: skiing/snowboarding and biking. Agility, balance, cardiovascular endurance, coordination, stability, muscular stamina, and strength will be the focus. This program is meant to prepare individuals with exercises specifically geared to improving fitness as it relates to the alpine environment, whether it is the endurance and strength to get up the hill, or the balance, agility, and coordination to get down the hill, no matter what is on your feet. No equipment is required.
