- Masks
- Skiing is Believing requires all camp attendees (campers, staff, volunteers, etc.) to bring a mask to camp, per governor’s orders and CDC recommendations for youth sport.
- Masks will be worn during camp down times (e.g. pick-up & drop-off, ice-breakers, instruction times, and any other close-contact time where physical activity is minimal).
- Masks will be encouraged when possible but not required during lunch times and outdoor sport activities.
- During these times social distancing practices will be implemented to promote the safety of all Skiing is Believing campers, volunteers, and staff. Wearing a mask protects your child and also protects the health and safety of other campers and staff members.
- Social Distancing
- Social distancing (6 ft. or more between all camp personnel*) will be implemented during down times (e.g. pick-up & drop-off, ice-breakers, instruction times, etc.) and especially during lunch/snack times.
- Social distancing will be implemented in sport when possible given sport constraints.
- Activities will be modified to promote lowest-risk sport setting by prioritizing individual skill development over close-contact (i.e. more lacrosse stick work than scrimmage time)
- Sharing food and drink will not be allowed between Skiing is Believing personnel, including campers.*
- High-fives and handshakes will not be allowed. Instead, verbal affirmations such as, “Good game” will be encouraged to replace physical displays of good sportsmanship.
- Personal Protective and Sanitizing Equipment
- Hand Sanitizer will be available for the entire duration of camp days to all campers, staff, and volunteers to apply sanitizer regularly throughout the day at water breaks, lunch, and after visiting the restroom.
- Gloves will be available for the entire duration of camp days to all campers, staff, and volunteers.
- Masks will be available for the entire duration of camp days to all campers, staff, and volunteers.
- Sport Equipment
- All sport equipment provided by Skiing is Believing will be sanitized at the beginning of each day and each camper will be assigned a specific piece of equipment for the entire day.
- In the case of a sport that requires the “sharing” of equipment inherent to its execution, (i.e. football, rugby, etc.) all camp participants (staff included) will be asked to apply hand sanitizer before and after water, restroom, or lunch breaks.
- Extra Snacks and Water
- Extra snacks will be provided by Skiing is Believing staff for campers who need supplemental nutrition. Snacks are all individually and commercially packaged (e.g. granola bars, fruit snack packs, etc.) per CDC guidelines for snacks for youth sport.
Skiing is believing will be implementing all of these practices and protocol in all of our camp days and will adopt any additional policies and procedures that our partner organizations implement in their facilities/events.
