to ski programs are being offered for youth and adult women. These programs are offered at Western Nevada College in Carson City. Attendees can choose their preferred dates and times for select programs.
Whether you're a child or an adult, our skate programs are designed to coach you to safely and effectively, learn how to skate, improve your skating skills if they already exist, and of course, have fun while doing it and eventually translate your skate skills to snow! Skate to Ski: Youth '24

Skate to Ski: Ages: 8-18
AM sessions are 9 am - 11 am
PM sessions are 3 pm - 5 pm
All sessions are four weeks long, recurring on the same day, time & at the same location. Choose your session based on date & preferred time.
SESSION 1: Sundays -9/15-10/6 -Western Nevada College - PM- postponed by one week
SESSION 2: Saturdays 10/5-10/26- -Western Nevada College - PM
SESSION 3: Sundays -10/6-10/27- Western Nevada College - AM
A four-week inline skating program preparing youth with exercises and progressions specifically geared to improve their alpine skiing while also improving their skills & fitness on skates, all while having fun! The skills required for skating are extremely similar and applicable to alpine skiing. Proficiency in one lends to the other. This program is a transfer learning program geared toward improving ones skating ability to become a better skier. Drills, skills and LOTS of games will be introduced and practiced to improve skate techniques that have direct application to snow. Additionally, students will also learn how to skate to improve their general fitness and aerobic capacity. This Skate to Ski program is supported by Rollerblade and endorsed & taught by their Skate to Ski program and ambassadors.
EQUIPMENT:
Mandatory: Skates, helmets, wrist, knee & elbow pads are required. If you do not have your own skates, or skate protective gear, both can be provided; please email [email protected] with your needs.
Optional: Protective ski gear. For skaters looking for an alpine race focus, dryland ski gates, full size & stubby gates may also be used in this program. Shin guards, arm guards, a slalom helmet & or pole guards will be needed for students looking to skate in the gates.

*Perfect attendance is not mandatory. Attendees can miss weeks as needed. However, no refunds or make-ups for missed weeks.
*Schedule is subject to change due to adverse weather, wind, air, snow conditions, and or COVID-related issues.
*Refunds are not available due to changes in weather, air quality, sick or missed days, or other factors out of SIB control.
*If there is a change of schedule or cancellation SIB will promptly notify registrants via email, text, and then phone.
*Prior to the program beginning, parents will receive an email with specific details regarding the time & meeting location details.

* SIB is not responsible for missed classes & is not required to offer make up classes.
*Spots are limited. A $100 non-refundable but transferable fee applies to all program registrations. Cancelations within one week are not subject to any refunds but will receive full credit.
